Beginning Of Spring “Steaming Tenders”…
So we have welcomed 2021 and are heading towards the middle of the year. 2020 was a Teaching Curve for the whole world. COVID-19 hit and trauma it has left on it’s wake will be felt and remembered for years to come. I remember thinking Wow! how fast this year is going when it was only February 2020 looking forward like everyone else what the new year was going to bring! Oops! I guess we may have spoken too soon! With that All the new year’s resolutions were put in the back burner or canceled all together.
Anyway, here we are in 2021, praying and hoping that this year the Sun will Shine in all our homes, the rain of pain will stop and the healing of all nations will become a welcome event in all our lives. There is hope for a tomorrow that is brighter than yesterday’s 2020! This year The New Year Resolutions are either an ongoing projection or already a plans at work! You know how it goes, dieting, losing weight, getting healthy, taking good care of ourselves, Starting a new job, starting a business, Blog, Channel,YouTube or Podcast, New Relationship or getting married etc. The part of financial freedom, saving more, going back to school, spending more time with family, giving more of oneself in the communities, building wealth for my family and leaving a legacy have all become front and center to many. We realize we have been given a Second Chance in life and those things we overlooked or took fore granted and were so nonchalant about bring us the most joy and appreciation!
Hahaha! All those New Year’s Resolutions have crossed my mind, my table and even been written down in that notebook that promises to be a life saver one day and pictures cut-up and taped on the vision board. To be honest each year I have made resolutions and realized that half the time I am thinking of things I have tried and didn’t essentially work towards because I had other stuff going on that took over, my job came in the way, I was too tired, not enough time in the day, no help, no capital and all other excuses that could satisfy that guilty feeling when looking back on new years eve. Really All were just excuses and poor reasons to avoid trying that new diet, read that book on self=help or other that’s been collecting dust on the coffee table or bedside table! Procrastination and “tomorrow is another day” have been the thieves of time! Yes it is another day, week, month, and soon to be another new year.
How many of us keep telling ourselves that and year after year we are making the same resolutions? I don’t believe in that adage that ” Resolutions are meant to be broken”.. because then it keeps people in that comfort zone that needs to be broken. 2020 taught us things can change in a Second even what we rely on. The more reason to do what we can, when we have the chance and Trust God for the Rest!
This year though 2021 I promised not to dwell on things that are openly a struggle and dwell on things, missions as I choose to call them that can be somewhat achieved even in small steps! Last year was full of learning curves, Big work changes for many people and home changes that were stressful sometimes to the hilt and the nation, plus globally. We wondered if we would make it but Alas! We are in here 2021! Personally I am going to bed thanking God for that Day and Praying for more mercy to see the new day, week, month and year. Looking forward to this year putting God First.
Last year put Something else to the fore front, appreciation and gratitude that made most of us think of everything. I remember trying each day to take a mental note of what I was grateful for, reminding myself to appreciate last year while taking account of all the great things that happened planned and unplanned then being grateful for them. Many times things happen and happened but we are so busy sometime or were too busy thinking of the next, sometimes things we are wishing for or trying to accomplish that we miss being present and grateful for whatever blessings we have received that minute, day, week or month. We are too busy chasing the next thing. Let’s try to be more present this year take time to actually to smell that Rose, Listen to the birds, look at the Sunrise or Sunset!
Sure It’s still to early to say what the year holds but preparation for whatever your Resolution or Goal is for 2021 is key and will bring success and reduce stress. What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Share with us and let us know how you plan on achieving them. Have you written them on a Vision Board or Stuck Sticky papers everywhere on your wall? Hahaha! I do this sometimes because for sure after a few months of the usual grind of work and life not to mention I’m not getting younger, I find things slip my mind faster than I can say “Jack Robinson”.
I have been reading and looking around for books and ideas to help propel me forward this year and must admit there are a lot of books on Healthy living, Dieting and fitness. Books on Building wealth or firing your boss and work at home are also good ideas for financial growth and freedom. Some books I have found valuable are;
# My Bible is 1st.
# Green Smoothies and Juices from Amazon.
# Law of Attraction.
# Think and Grow Rich.
# The Lawn Boy (Read it When my children were for Class!)
For those not very keen on reading You Tube has everything you are looking for but you have to be careful because some are just marketing videos that may actually not help you achieve your goals or are just full of fluff but no substance! Amazon is another place you can find interesting books and videos that may have the content you are looking for cheap since they sometimes have second hand books especially for diets, juicing, smoothies etc.
